Living in The Heart Of the Monster

he whip lit my back on fire. I would have screamed but I could only make guttural noises in the back of my throat since my master had cut my tongue out when I was a toddler. That had been the start of the belief that the whole world was evil. There was nothing that could make this worse. They had even done this on the TV at the start of the Fifa 2136 I hadn’t even done anything wrong my master had randomly picked my name from a hat. Why did I have such a cruel master I thought just as my world went black.

Chapter 1
I
Woke to a bright light above my head. Then I saw a clock. It said it was 1:00 hours after the Fifa had started. Then a house servant came in.
She gave me a numbing medicine and I wrote “Thank you,” on my small electronic tablet.
She said “You’re welcome.”  And left the room.
I  waited about 20 minutes and heaved myself out of bed scared that my back would flare in pain but it didn’t and the numbing medicine kept working as I put on my shirt. I went outside to start working.  As I walked out of the door the security guard told me
 “It’s your forest day.”
I hadn’t realized until now that a dark day could be so bright. The sun was slowly going dimmer and dimmer but it was still bright as I realized what this meant.
I was terrified. I looked at the guard to make sure he wasn’t just messing with me. When I saw he was not messing with me I tore down the streets now aware of a fiery pain in my back. My heart was pounding so hard I was afraid it would fall out of my chest. A hovercar passed me going at the speed limit of 160. A man with a robot following him glanced at me with contempt. Just as I turned a corner I ran into a girl with glowing red hair and beautiful green eyes. I recognized her as the mayors daughter. I was so shocked I was at a loss for words (well written words) and the girl seemed to be to.
Then she yelled “Well at least say sorry.”
“Sorry I was distracted it is my forest day today” I wrote meekly on my tablet.
She gasped “Good luck…” dying off at the end of a sentence.
She started to say something then seemed to thing better of it and slowly turned around and wandered off lost in thought. I followed suit and walked towards the park the only place I could get away from the accusing glances of people.
As I walked a woman passed me this time she looked at me with sympathy as she realized who I was but she kept walking. The sun was now below the mountains and the clouds were turning a dark crimson. As I approached the park I realized this might be the last time I ever saw them. As that thought appeared in my head the trees suddenly looked different than usual.
I had to make it through the night! I was suddenly determined to survive no matter what happened. But… I was not going to go back to the job I was doing now I was going to run, and I was not going to get caught. I was not going to run away like the others the ones who got caught. I was going to have a plan and it was already forming in my head. But I did not have all the control it revolved around one person’s decision.

Chapter 2
I
Slowly walked towards my masters’ house dragging my feet. To slow the inevitable. But if I got there even a second late they would release another beast to hunt me. And the whole plan depended on my mental capacity to handle the pain of what I was going to do.
